Details: Join us for the Hart House Debate Committee’s Second Annual Alumni Debate. The event promises to be a wonderful opportunity for alumni to reconnect with one another and engage with current students. Reception and cocktails to follow.
The topic for the debate:
“Be it resolved that: Shakespeare was right- let’s kill all the lawyers.”
Participants in this debate will be:
Speaking in favour of the motion (The Government team):
- John Godfrey (Alumnus- Trinity College Class of 1965)
- Joshua Stark (Student- Law Class of 2013)
Speaking against the motion (The Opposition team):
- Stephen Goudge (Alumnus – UofT Class of 1964, Law Class of 1968)
- Ryann Atkins (Student- Law Class of 2013)
John Ferguson Godfrey is an educator, journalist and former Member of Parliament. Stephen Goudge is a former lecturer and litigator, and a sitting judge on the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Josh Stark and Ryann Atkins are third year students at UofT
